My Favorite Bands

From all my previous music posts, you've probably all got the hint that I love listening to and sharing music. There's a couple of bands that have truly impacted my life for the better by saving me from tough, emotional times. Whenever I feel lost or just need a little inspiration, I always go onto my Spotify and listen right away to these same artists on repeat.

1. Bombay Bicycle Club

I cannot describe how much I freakin love this band. Although I've only gotten into them last year, I can proudly say that they are, by far, my favorite band. I remember the first time I listened to their song, "How Can You Swallow So Much Sleep, and was instantly taken away by their calming sound and unique guitar riffs. All of their songs have this echoey kind of vibe that makes me feel so relaxed and happy, like i'm in a state of euphoria. Sadly, this year they announced they were "taking a break" aka breaking up:((( I was heartbroken, though their songs will forever be listened by me on repeat. My favorite album is definitely A Different Kind of Fix, with songs that I love including: "Your Eyes", "Leave It", "Shuffle", and "Lights Out, Words Gone". Another favorite is "Luna" along with "Carry Me", "Home By Now" and "Always Like This". Actually, just listen to all their albums because i'll probably say I love every single song.

2. The 1975

The first time I saw this band live in concert, I was blown away. Matty Healy's voice is so unique-there's just something about it that's enticing. I love the muted sounds of their guitars, the echoed voices, and the pure emotion they put into every song. My favorite song of all would definitely be "You", which doesn't get as much fame and credit as it deserves. Hearing that song live was the best thing my ears have ever heard. I love the sound of the guitar in the beginning coupled with Matty's voice. I also really love "Somebody Else", "Fallingforyou", "Intro", "Head.Cars.Bending", and Menswear. It's so hard to pick my favorite songs from them since I practically listen to them all.

3. Alt-j

At first, I didn't really expect myself to get into this band since they were just so different. I then realized that I loved them because they were unique from other bands I've ever heard. The song that really made me fall in love with them was "Intro", a short song overwhelmed with distinct vocals, distant guitars, and a random break into some type of electro beat. All together, it's something unique and just addicting to listen to. After that, I pretty much listened to their albums, An Awesome Wave and This is All Yours, all of last winter. My second favorite song is "Hunger of the Pine", followed by "Breezeblocks", "Tesselate", and "Something Good." Also, their most recent album has a lot of acoustic, peaceful sounding songs, which are way different from their usual vibe.

When people ask me my favorite bands of all time, these are the top 3 I've been giving so far. My runner-ups would probably be: Vampire Weekend, Oh Wonder, Imagine Dragons, and Two Door Cinema Club. Thanks for reading and definitely give these bands a listen!
