Love Yourself

Note: It's been quite a while since I've posted on my blog, and I'm so excited to finally have time to write new content now that it's summer! Expect a lot more fashion, traveling, and beauty posts :) This article is a lil different but I felt the need to present some encouraging words for this summer:

This past semester has consisted of way too much caffeine, daily two hour naps, and spending all night in the library, which meant that dressing nice and wearing makeup was not always an option for me, which would also usually be a huge deal to me. Ever since I turned 13, makeup has been an integral part of my life, especially since I've been dealing with pretty bad acne even before then. My routine would consist of rolling out of bed, washing up, and then spending at least 15 minutes caking my face in foundation that was way too orange for me. Without it, I'd just feel vulnerable, insecure, and overall not myself.

I never thought I could even go a day without wearing some form of makeup, though college really changed the game for me, and not purposely. With so much work, long classes, and waking up late, I gradually stopped having enough time to even put on some foundation. And as time passed, this started to become the norm.

I never thought I'd reach a point where I'd be comfortable presenting myself to others without makeup, though here I am. I've learned to love the way I look, makeup or not, and everyone should also feel that way. Although I still love getting ready and of course, buying tons of makeup, I'm just proud of myself for not feeling like I have to rely on it anymore. It's a small step, but regardless a step to self love and confidence.

To anyone reading this: Be comfortable in your own skin and accept yourself for who you are. My first goal of the summer is to take care of myself through self-love.

Until next time,
➵ KW
